Carolin Demuth, Associate Professor at the Department of Communication and Psychology at Aalborg University, has been awarded the Ernst E. Boesch Main Prize in recognition of her outstanding academic contributions to the field of cultural psychology.

The award honors the legacy of Ernst E. Boesch, a pioneer in cultural psychology, and is presented every two years by the German Society of Cultural Psychology in collaboration with the Lotte Köhler Center in Germany. It celebrates researchers who have made a significant impact on the development and dissemination of cultural psychology. The prize is awarded in two categories: the Main Prize and the Young Scientist Prize.

Carolin Demuth’s research brings together discursive psychology, narrative psychology, and multimodal interaction analysis within a dialogically oriented framework. Her work focuses particularly on early childhood interaction and identity formation.

She serves as Co-Director of the Centre for Cultural Psychology at Aalborg University, leads the Cultural Psychology research group, and co-directs the MA program in Cultural Psychology. From 2021 to 2024, she also held the role of President of the Association of European Qualitative Researchers in Psychology (EQuiP), which she co-founded. Through this work, she has played a key role in promoting qualitative research in psychology across Europe.
