The subject of Nancy Baym's presentation will be "The new shape of online communities".

Nancy Baym is an Associate Professor of Communication Studies at the University of Kansas. She is currently involved in a research project examining community, friendship, and music fandom on the social networking site Last.fm. She has published widely on the topics of online community and the internet?s place in personal relationships.
